Work with CI partners to assist in meeting their business and operational goals.
Assist and support in the development and implementation of strategies and associated tactical action steps to ensure workflows and processes are completed efficiently and effectively.
Support the metrics and processes to monitor and continuously improve key financial and non-financial drivers of operational performance.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and YTD financial statements for completeness and accuracy.
Provide and compile metrics and analysis of P&L statements including Premium production, Reinsurance, Commissions and Expenses.
Gather/prepare documentation to support unusual activity, trends or occurrences and inform divisional personnel of the findings. Continue to follow up on issues until completion.
Member of team responsible for building the annual plan and quarterly forecasting.
Assist documenting, developing, and implementing financial processes
Responsible for partnering with business and support groups (e.g. product, industry practice, regional business, IT and data analytics groups) to develop plans and forecasts, understand and analyze their production results and reporting.
Assisting in the development of management reports and providing support to related users.
Skills and Experience
Bachelor s degree preferred.
5+ years relevant experience in accounting or financial analysis roles.
MBA, CPA, or CMA a plus
Strong business and financial acumen a plus
Insurance business and/or financial/accounting knowledge understanding a plus
Experience with P&C Reinsurance a plus
Strong knowledge of the various functional areas within a branch office or underwriting center (underwriting, processing, claims, administration, and technology), and the systems used by these groups a plus
Proven track record in an underwriting position in a commercial lines operation a plus
Must demonstrate an orientation to results
Ability to work effectively and independently with other disciplines and all levels of management/staff throughout the organization
Excellent communication skills both oral and written
Strong leadership, technical and analytical skills
Experience with relational databases including development, management, query and reporting (e.g. TM1, Cognos, Qlik) technologies a plus
Understand and utilize the various internal reporting systems and tools (BAR, MIS, CMR, TSO) a plus
Ability to lead others, problem solve and work autonomously, to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Advance knowledge of Excel
